George Pajon Jr.
George Pajon Jr. is a guitarist, songwriter and producer. He has written songs for Black Eyed Peas, Santana, Ricky Martin, Macy Gray, will.i.am, Bono, Mary J. Blige, Faith Hill, Seal, Fergie and others. His hit song “Where Is The Love” (Black Eyed Peas) was nominated for two Grammy awards, and his co-writes of “Let’s Get It Started” and “Don’t Phunk with my Heart” both won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. He also won the Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy for his writing contributions to the album The E.N.D. by the Black Eyed Peas. Pajon has also won three BMI Pop Music Awards and a BMI London Pop Music Award. He also co-wrote the Emmy Award winning 2008 Barack Obama campaign song “Yes We Can”.
Pajon has played guitar on records by Damian Marley, John Legend, Michael Stipe, Sergio Mendes, Sting, Earth Wind & Fire, Black Eyed Peas, Fergie and others. He’s produced tracks for Fergie, Ricky Martin, Sons of Martel, Descemer Bueno and others.
He’s contributed (as a writer or musician) to many soundtracks, including Scary Movie, Legally Blonde, Madagascar 2, and White Chicks. He contributed to television soundtracks such as Live From Studio Five, The Voice of the Philippines, The Voice UK, The X Factor and Dancing With The Stars among others. He co-wrote the theme and title credit to the animated cartoon series Samurai Jack.
Pajon’s explosive duo with New Zealand drummer/vocalist Nick Gaffaney, Cairo Knife Fight, recently released their album The Colossus.
