Steve Hunter has been contributing his expertise, style and tone to other people’s albums for over 40 years. Starting with Mitch Ryder in 1971 then moving on to record and or tour with Peter Gabriel, Lou Reed, Alice Cooper, Julian Lennon, Bette Midler and Tracy Chapman to name a few.
From unforgettable tracks such as ‘Solsbury Hill (Peter Gabriel), ‘Train Kept Rolling’ (Aerosmith) and his own composition ‘The Intro’ to Sweet Jane (Lou Reed) Steve has dedicated his life to music despite dealing with Pigmentary Glaucoma.
He has recorded four albums under his own name: ‘Swept Away’ ‘The Deacon’ ‘Short Stories’ and Hymns For Guitar’. The latter two can be found on most major online stores including iTunes and www.cdbaby.com.
In 2011 Steve featured heavily on the new Alice Cooper album ‘Welcome 2 My Nightmare’ a successor to ‘Welcome To My Nightmare’ released in 1975 which Steve also played on. He completed a world tour with Alice last year.
He is currently recording a new solo album and has released a teaser from that on iTunes, an instrumental version of Marvin Gaye’s ‘What’s Going On’. Steve lives in Phoenix AZ with his wife Karen.
“Pigtronix pedals are pretty much like no other on the market. They always offer something unique, quirky and fun but at the same time very musical and usable. It’s always a blast plugging one in and twisting the knobs. It’s like opening Pandora’s box and all these groovy things come out. And I find myself waiting and anticipating the next new pedal. There will always be at least one Pigtronix pedal in my pedalboard!”
