“I started playing guitar when I was 13. And it’s kind of a funny story. My parents were building a new home and one afternoon they wanted to do some furniture shopping. They brought me along for the ride. So, while they shopped, I sat in a chair. And waited. And thought. And waited. And I decided right then and there that I wanted to play guitar. I told my parents and they laughed, thinking I’d change my mind. I didn’t. I shoveled snow all winter to save money to buy a guitar. It was only a cheap acoustic. But it got me started. Shortly after that, my parents surprised me with a Les Paul for Christmas. I’ve been playing ever since.

“My first paying gig was when I was 14. My first band was called Ground Zero. The first all-originals band I was in was called The Criminals. I signed with Ma Kelley (Revolver Records), recording five albums with them between 1990 and 1996, toured throughout the USA and Canada, opening for such great bands as Journey, Blue Oyster Cult, Foreigner, and Van Halen.

“After Ma Kelley broke up, I joined The Why Store. I joined Iced Earth in 2007…and I’m having the time of my life. I never dreamed – even as a 13 year old with a healthy imagination – that I’d be playing for such a cool band.

“If you see me on tour, be sure to say Hello. I love meeting fans.”
