Dino J.A. Deane Uses:
Throughout his career as a multi-instrumentalist, sound-designer and conductor, Dino J.A. Deane has demonstrated an innovative approach to the world of music. He pioneered the use of live-electronics & live-looping with Indoor Life, a popular art/punk band from San Francisco in the early 1980’s, playing trombone controlled synthesizer that emulated the sound of an electric guitar. Soon afterwards he was touring the world as the electro-acoustic live-sampling percussionist with Jon Hassell, a collaboration that produced the ground breaking Power Spot recording for ECM in 1986. During that same period he became a close collaborator in Butch Morris’s real-time composition creations called Conductions, where he live-sampled the ensemble in real time (something very few were doing at the time). Continuing the work of Mr. Morris, Deane has been conducting the Out of Context ensemble for the past 15 years. He also plays Lap-Steel Dulcimer in Black Iron Trio and in the multi-media ensemble Instant Takemitsu.
“In a time when 24 bit audio and 32 bit processing has been stuffed into a plethora of hand held devices,” says Dino, “what really sets a looper apart from the throng these days is it’s functionality and ease of use (technological transparency) and the aptly named INFINITY LOOPER is both simple and boundless…..a powerful combination.”
